Bullied As A Kid, This Albino Guy Beats Everyone By Becoming A Model Although certain beauty standards still exist, we are now starting to see this reality gradually changing. Things that many would consider to be “imperfections”, are slowly becoming key elements of beauty. Leo Jonah is a 22-year-old guy from London who was born with albinism – a congenital disorder characterized by the complete or partial absence of pigment in the skin, hair and eyes. Despite the fact that albinism is quite rare, both of his siblings were also born with the same condition and their childhood wasn’t easy. They were the first black family in the neighborhood and on top of that all of the children had albinism, so they were constantly mocked by other children. “When you’re growing up, everyone is trying to fit in. And naturally I couldn’t fit in. Even if I wanted to try and fit in, it wouldn’t work,’ Leo told DailyMail. “I couldn’t just walk to the shop without getting into a fight. Every single day I’d get into a fight.” Turns out, there was also a good side to that – growing up with such unique looks, it didn’t take long for the modelling agencies to spot Leo. His life turned around when he was finally scouted by an agent. He has learned to embrace his striking looks and accept himself as he is. “I love it now. I love it. I wouldn’t change it for anything.” Leo has already featured in magazines such as Vogue Russia, appeared in several different music videos and even modeled at London fashion week. Today, using his experience, he’s trying to help other people with the same condition to love themselves and live their lives to the fullest. More info: https://www.instagram.com/leo_jonah/
